Earthy Elegance at Rosewood Estate

Earthy Elegance at Rosewood Estate

There is so much to love from the earthy elegance wedding style on today’s featured Real Wedding.  Keith and Kate had an incredible wedding day at Rosewood Estate in Beechmont.  Offering panoramic views that drew inspiration from the natural ambiance of the venue.  Kate’s love of earth tones and beloved pet dog guest appearance, adding a personal touch!

Love Notes and Posy Lane helped this lovely couple realise their vision with beautiful style.

Wedding Style

Keeping within natural surrounds of the venue, white florals and minimal styling was paramount.  Adding textural layers with white table runners, white pillar candles in glass sleeves, while oatmeal linen napkins complimented wicker charger plates. The light and airy reception took place inside a glass marquee, set for 150 guests.  Choosing to sit amongst their guests, created more space for the dance floor where Kate made a second entrance in her second wedding dress.

Copper satin dresses worn by the Bridesmaids popped against Jacaranda’s in full bloom.  Kate and Keith’s beloved dog walked down the aisle as ring bearer, stealing guests hearts.  Despite a few clouds looming overhead, it was otherwise a picture perfect day.  Filled with laughter, feasting, dancing and above all, love.

Scenic Rim Bride, Kate chose gorgeous gown Sage by luxury bridal designer, Lihi Hod from Maelle.

How we met

“Keith and I met at university – we both went to medical school in Brisbane, and he was living with friends of mine.  We became close after our combined friendship group went on a holiday up north to explore the reef and the waterfalls in tropical FNQ, and dated shortly after.  A few years on, we moved to Cairns for work and adopted a dog!  After living there for 2yrs I was moved away for work again. He proposed at Mt Mulligan lodge just before we started long distance, at a private candle-lit degustation down by the weir.

We’ve only just moved back to Cairns together again!

The Dress

The dress is from Maëlle in Melbourne, it’s a Lihi Hod gown. I never had a brief for the style of dress I wanted, and found it overwhelming trying on all different styles! The dress I ended up choosing is sleek and simple. It was beautiful. Then I changed into a sparkly Ella Moda party dress. I didn’t trust myself to dance in a full gown without stepping on it and had way more fun on the dance floor in a short dress and sneakers.

The Venue

We only saw the venue for the first time the day before the wedding! We found Rosewood on Instagram and the photos were stunning. Keith wanted a view, and I wanted to get married close to home (my family are on the Gold Coast). The clear marquee with the fairy lights was so special.

Favourite Memory

Looking around the room at all the people who are special to us. There won’t ever be a moment again that everyone is together like that. We treated the wedding as more of a celebration of our family and friends, than just a wedding ceremony.

Bride’s Advice

Having a coordinator on-site made a huge difference to the organisation and flow on the day (especially as our venue didn’t have everything on site). We also had supportive family and bridal party, so everybody was relaxed and helpful!

Whimsical Micro-Wedding

Whimsical Micro-Wedding

Planning a destination wedding all the way from LA, James and Elizabeth chose to say “I do” with an intimate wedding elopement, surrounded by their closest.  Their whimsical micro-wedding took place at one of Australia’s most awarded luxury venue, Spicers Peak Lodge.  Set 1100 metres above sea level on a stunningly beautiful grassy plateau, atop a soaring mountain of the imposing Great Dividing Range.

We can’t decide what we love more, that ceremony arch, the effortlessly elegant yet romantic style, or that utterly charming reception setting.

Stand out suppliers

Red Tie Entertainment.  Although I was skeptical having a band for such a small wedding, they were absolutely amazing.  Everything from the ceremony music to the last song of the night was perfect.  Our band brought such great energy to our celebration.

Gwen Floral Co. Going large on fresh flowers was my top request and Sarah nailed it! My sister loved the ground arch so much, she got an oil painting done for us as a wedding gift.

Spicers Peak Lodge.  We cannot say enough good things about Spicers Peak Lodge. Especially for anyone planning a destination wedding.  The lodge is gorgeous, the food was incredible and the staff could not have been more lovely, welcoming and helpful.

Scenic Rim Bride. Honestly, all the suppliers recommended were perfectly fitting.  We felt so lucky to have Bronwyn from Scenic Rim Bride on our side!  Despite the weather not cooperating, we felt so happy with all the decisions we made, with what we were able to control.

Bec + Jack | Rain or Shine

Come rain, hail or shine!

October’s floods could not stop the celebration of Rebecca and Jack Yeomans wedding, making the day a truly memorable one.

Bec and Jack were married amid last October’s rising floodwaters on Bec’s family farm in Kilcoy, Queensland.  The week of the wedding started with sunshine, which lured the family into a false sense of security.  With an imminent deluge from above, creeks ran their banks and gullies ballooned.  But country folk won’t be detered, as 150 guests made their way past the surging waters.

In true rural spirit, everyone pitched in.  There’s no point dwelling on the what ifs,.  It simply was the most magical and unique day, despite the chaos!

While COVID threw out the couple’s original planned wedding at Rosewood Estate, it was a blessing in disguise.  Bec and Jack shortly discovered they were expecting a baby boy, Fred!  Hence another postponement, including a change of location.  After two years of wedding planning, SE Qld encountered rain, lots of it!  With family and friends quickly turning a large onsite shed into a beautiful ceremony space.

The close-knit community of family and friends, ensured a very special day for the couple.

A true bridal shower.  Bridesmaids picking their way through the mud in high heels, rain or shine.
