Marina loves cakes. As a 12 year old she wrote a letter of complaint to the pastry chef of her favourite patisserie in her home town of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. She argued that the recipe change she’d accused him of hadn’t worked – that his subtle tweak of the hazelnut and dark chocolate mousse cake was flawed and demanded that he add more dark chocolate as there had previously been. Her obsession with cakes continues today.

Professionally, however, she started in fine dining. After studying cuisine at Le Cordon Bleu in London, Marina worked with some wonderful chefs including two Michelin-starred chef, Marcus Wareing.

It wasn’t long before she found her way into one of London’s great pastry kitchens at the Mandarin Oriental in Knightsbridge, where she could bake all the delicious, sweet things she dreamt of.

Marina now lives on beautiful Tamborine Mountain in the Gold Coast hinterland with her husband, her two adorable little children, an eternally hungry labrador and a view to die for.

Our pop-up Gelateria on wheels is perfect for the not-so-traditional couple looking to add an element of fun to their day. Treat your guests either after the ceremony, once the confetti settles or after dinner and speeches, as a sweet surprise at the reception!

Couples can really add the ‘cuuuuuute’ factor by choosing from our personalisation options, like bespoke flavours, neon signs and customised cups. The bike becomes a photo opportunity that you and your guests will love.

Our authentic gelato is handcrafted in Coolangatta by our Italian friend, Davide. We know it’s the best because he studied at the famous Gelati University in Bologna, Italy. Yep, you heard right… Gelati University. These traditional gelato-making methods ensure we have the real taste of Italy in every scoop. By using the highest quality ingredients we guarantee the denser consistency and richer taste that differentiates gelato from ice cream. With over 50 delicious flavours to choose from, including our decadent Salted Caramel & Nutella or the more traditional Sicilian Pistachio, we are confident there is a flavour combination to suit your big day. We can’t wait to get scooping.
