A Vision Brought to Life
The first ever Scenic Rim Wedding Event has officially wrapped and honestly? We’re still not over it.
Held at the Tamborine Mountain Showgrounds, the event was a collaboration between local luxury wedding planner Scenic Rim Bride and regional tourism body Destination Scenic Rim, bringing together the very best of the region’s wedding industry for couples planning their big day.
With more than 50 exhibitors and over 400 registered couples joining us, it’s safe to say the Scenic Rim showed up in style for its very first wedding event, and if Sunday was anything to go by, 2027 is already looking pretty exciting.
Before the Gates Opened
But before the dreamy florals, saxophone solos and prosecco with crème brûlée floss, there was plenty happening behind the scenes.
Friday’s bump in came with rain, but the teams from Wedding Tent Co and Happy Marquee Hire worked tirelessly to create beautiful covered spaces ready for the weekend ahead. Designed to provide protection from both passing showers and the surprisingly punchy winter sun, the structures quickly became some of the most popular spaces on the grounds.
By Saturday, Hampton Event Hire had completely transformed the showgrounds with beautifully styled furniture and inspiration around every corner. Their spaces quickly became the perfect spot for couples to sit, chat and compare notes on the suppliers they had met throughout the day, while the custom registration desk made one seriously good first impression.
The Vibe We Hoped For
By the time Sunday rolled around, the vibe was exactly what we had hoped for: relaxed, welcoming and full of conversation.
Suppliers connected with couples, exhibitors connected with one another and many members of the wedding industry met for the very first time. The atmosphere felt relaxed, welcoming and collaborative, less about selling and more about community.
Styling, Inspiration and Plenty of Giveaways
The styling was next level thanks to incredible floral installations from To Forage, thoughtful details throughout the venue and plenty of moments worthy of a camera roll update.
Guests were welcomed with prosecco thanks to Dan Murphy’s, copies of Hello May Real Weddings magazines and the chance to win some seriously incredible prizes including:
• Two nights accommodation at The Tamborine Boutique Hotel
• A $1,000 gift voucher from After Five Bridal
• A $500 Homebodii luxury hamper
• A $250 gift voucher from The Whole Bride
• Exclusive exhibitor offers available only on event day
The Food Deserved Its Own Section
And then there was the food.
Spanish tapas and paella from Spanish Catering? Elite. Groupset Coffee? Essential after a 6am start. Steeped in Traditional High Tea delivered beautiful sweet and savoury offerings, Cuisine On Cue served a selection of gourmet canapés, In Season Catering rolled out their charcuterie cart and Flossy somehow made prosecco even better with crème brûlée floss and dried raspberries. The Overflow Estate kept the bubbles flowing, pouring sparkling that paired perfectly with a day of wedding planning and celebration.
Setting the Soundtrack
Vintage Mobile Bar Co kept the mocktails flowing while Mr Sax Australia, Adam from Envy Event Entertainment and Kent Dustin provided the soundtrack to the day with live saxophone, DJ sets and acoustic music.
Showcasing the Best of the Scenic Rim Wedding Industry
Couples met an incredible lineup of wedding professionals including celebrants, hair and makeup artists, photographers, planners, stylists and cake makers, alongside venues, transport providers, local producers and artisan makers.
From coaches and helicopters to handcrafted chocolates and wine experiences, the diversity of the Scenic Rim wedding industry was on full display.
One of the standout moments? Watching Poppy from The Live Artist Collective create artwork live throughout the day. Watching a wedding painting come to life in real time was pretty special.
Showcasing the Best of the Scenic Rim Wedding Industry
A huge thank you to the Tamborine Mountain Showgrounds for hosting our inaugural event and supporting the vision from day one.
Behind the scenes, there were countless people whose hard work, generosity and willingness to lend a hand helped bring the day to life.
Our work experience student Pippa was incredible throughout the event, while Uncle Guy managing the gates, parking, logistics and approximately one thousand other jobs that kept the day running smoothly.
Thank you also to Judi and Christelle from Destination Scenic Rim for their support, encouragement and belief in the event from the very beginning.
Until Next Time
Most importantly, thank you to every exhibitor who brought their creativity, passion and talent, and to every couple who spent their Sunday with us.
The Scenic Rim wedding industry is something pretty special.
